Information you choose to record

Your journal can include mood titles and notes; the feelings and descriptions you give to shapes; their colours, sizes, positions and rotations; and the dates entries are created or edited.

You can also record stress and pain levels, menstruation information, and an optional location name or coordinates. These details can be sensitive. They are used to display your entries and help you revisit and understand your own experiences.

Saved entries and app preferences are kept in the app’s storage on your device. Mood Activity does not provide a Flexicoder cloud account or a journal synchronisation service.

Insights stay on your device

The Insights feature counts feelings and finds recurring words in your entries using on-device processing, including Apple’s Natural Language framework. Insights does not send your journal text to Flexicoder, a remote AI service or an external analysis provider.

Location is optional

The app requests location permission only when you choose Use current location for an entry. It requests access while the app is in use and uses reduced location accuracy by default. It does not track your location in the background.

You can decline permission, enter a location name yourself, or leave location out. If you include location, the name and any coordinates are saved with that entry on your device. Turning off Include location and saving the entry removes its saved location information.

Maps are provided by Apple Maps. Displaying a map can involve requests to Apple for the area being shown; Mood Activity does not send the entry’s title, notes or feelings with those map requests. Apple handles its service information under Apple Maps & Privacy.

Protecting your journal

The app lock uses Apple’s Face ID, Touch ID or device passcode authentication. Apple performs the authentication and tells the app whether it succeeded; Mood Activity does not receive your face or fingerprint data, or your device passcode.

The lock is enabled by default, can be controlled in Settings, and locks the app when it moves to the background. Current journal files also use iOS file protection. Keep your device and its passcode secure, especially if you choose to turn off the app lock.

Apple services and optional tips

The tip jar uses Apple’s App Store and StoreKit to load available tips and process purchases. Apple handles payment and account information. The app receives the product and transaction information needed to verify and finish a tip; it does not receive your payment card details.

Ratings, reviews and links to other apps also use Apple services. Apple may process information about your use of those services under its own policies and your Apple settings. See App Store & Privacy.

Mood Activity does not include advertising, advertising identifiers, tracking SDKs, or third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.

Backups, retention and deletion

Your journal remains in the app’s storage until you remove entries or delete the app and its data. Depending on your device settings, app data may also be included in iCloud or computer backups. Flexicoder does not operate or have access to those backups. See what iCloud Backup includes.

Deleting a mood removes it from the current journal and Activity list. If you upgraded from an older version, original records imported during migration are retained locally as migration backups, including original copies of entries later deleted from the current journal.

To remove all app data from the device, including those older copies, use iOS’s Delete App option. Offload App keeps app data. Copies in existing device backups are separate and must be managed through your backup settings.

Turning off an Ask… setting hides that detail’s entry controls; it does not erase information already saved in previous entries. Flexicoder cannot view, retrieve or delete your journal remotely.

Feedback you send us

Send feedback opens your email app, addressed to moods@flexicoder.com, with the app version in the subject. Mood entries and attachments are not added automatically.

If you send an email, Flexicoder receives your email address and whatever information you choose to include, and uses it to respond to your message. Only include journal content or other sensitive information if you want to share it with us. You can contact us about information you have sent by email using the address below.
