Speed Trip Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 September 2026

Who we are

Speed Trip is provided by Flexicoder Ltd, United Kingdom. We are responsible for the personal information we process to provide the app and support its users. Contact business@flexicoder.com with privacy questions or requests.

You do not need to create a Speed Trip account. Journeys are stored on your device, with optional sync through your private Apple iCloud account. We do not operate a server that receives your recorded routes.

Location and journey information

With your device permission, Speed Trip uses precise location to show your speed and position and to record journeys and estimated average speed checks. Location updates can continue in the background during a recording, including while the screen is locked.

A recording may include coordinates, timestamps, speed, distance, altitude and location accuracy, together with recording events, average speed check details, journey names, notes and tags. Altitude can remain in the recorded data and exports even when it is not displayed in the app.

This information powers saved journeys, maps, replay, statistics and exports. The app also stores preferences and a device-local recording identifier so it can reconnect to an interrupted recording. You can stop recording in the app and change or withdraw location permission in iOS Settings. Without suitable permission, location-based features will not work; existing saved journeys remain accessible.

Storage, iCloud and your Apple devices

iCloud sync is off by default. If you enable it, journey records are synced through Apple's CloudKit service in your private iCloud account so your devices can access them. Changing the sync setting takes effect after reopening Speed Trip. Turning sync off does not remove copies already in iCloud or on other devices. Local app data may also be included in backups managed by your device or Apple account settings.

Widgets and Live Activities use a compact summary of recording and journey information. Speed Trip can send recording status, speed, distance, journey title and average check information to its companion app on your paired Apple Watch. Information may appear on your Lock Screen, Dynamic Island, Watch or CarPlay dashboard, depending on your settings.

Maps and place names

Speed Trip uses Apple's map and location services to display maps and find readable names for journey start and end locations. Coordinates and map requests may be sent to Apple for these features. Apple's handling of these requests is covered by its own privacy information.

Purchases and RevenueCat

App Store payments are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access, determine trial and subscription status and understand purchase activity. RevenueCat processes transaction information and an automatically generated app user identifier, along with technical information needed to operate its service. We do not supply a name or email address as your RevenueCat identifier.

We do not receive your payment card details. Speed Trip does not send recorded routes, journey notes or precise GPS coordinates to RevenueCat. Development and testing versions may use RevenueCat Test Store transactions instead of real App Store payments.

Exports and support

You decide when to export or share a journey, report or recap. PDF, GPX and JSON files, and shared images, can disclose journey locations, dates, speeds and other recorded details. The apps, storage services and recipients you choose then handle those copies under their own arrangements.

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. The feedback email is prepared with the app version, build, operating system and device model to help us troubleshoot; you can edit it before sending. Journey files are not automatically attached. We use support correspondence to respond and investigate the issue.

Why we use information

We process information needed to provide the features and purchases you request to perform our contract with you. We rely on legitimate interests to respond to support requests, troubleshoot problems, prevent misuse and understand purchase activity, where those interests do not override your rights. We may also keep information where required by law. Where processing requires your consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Speed Trip does not include advertising or track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your journey data to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

How long information is kept

Saved journeys remain available until you delete them; a trial or subscription ending does not delete your history. On-device preferences and cached summaries are retained as needed for the app's features. Copies in backups, iCloud or exports can have a different lifetime from the copy on your device.

Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the request and any related follow-up or dispute. Purchase records are kept as needed to verify and restore access, address refunds or disputes and meet applicable legal obligations. You can contact us to request deletion of information held by us or processed on our behalf, subject to those requirements. Apple separately controls its payment and account records.

Deleting journeys and managing subscriptions

Use Settings → Journey data → Delete all journey data to remove journeys stored on the device, including their route points and events. Stop recordings first. If unfinished journeys are present, the app requires explicit confirmation to include them; stop recordings on other devices and allow sync to finish before doing so.

When iCloud sync is active, deletions of synced journeys also sync to iCloud and your connected devices. If sync is off, copies already in iCloud or on other devices remain. Files and images you previously exported or shared are not recalled, and copies in backups may remain until the relevant backup is removed or replaced.

Deleting journeys or uninstalling Speed Trip does not cancel a subscription or erase Apple or RevenueCat purchase records. Use Manage Subscription in Settings to manage or cancel an Apple subscription. For requests about purchase-related information processed on our behalf, contact us.

Service providers and international processing

Apple and RevenueCat provide the services described above. Email providers process messages you send to us. These providers may process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. RevenueCat's data processing terms provide contractual safeguards for applicable international transfers. Contact us for information about safeguards that apply to information processed on our behalf.

We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We use the platform's storage and security protections and limit the information sent to each service to what its feature needs.

Your rights

Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. Contact business@flexicoder.com to exercise these rights. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. We cannot directly retrieve journey data that remains solely on your device or in your private iCloud account; the app's export and deletion controls let you manage those records.

You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority. You do not have to contact us before doing so, although we welcome the opportunity to resolve a concern.
