Native Android engineering for real products
I develop Android applications using Kotlin and Java, working with the platform rather than forcing one shared implementation across devices with different expectations and capabilities.
My experience across mobile, APIs, databases and cloud services is valuable when the application is only one part of a connected product. I can investigate data flows, authentication, notifications and service behaviour as well as the interface on the device.
Choosing the right platforms
Not every product needs both Apple and Android applications on its first day. The correct choice depends on the audience, available budget, required device capabilities and how quickly the product needs to reach users.
When both platforms are appropriate, I help identify which behaviours should be consistent and where each platform should retain its native conventions. Shared product thinking does not require a compromised user experience.
Measured, AI-assisted delivery
Codex, Claude Code and Cursor support codebase exploration, implementation and verification during development. I remain responsible for architecture, security, testing, maintainability and product decisions, using AI to remove routine friction rather than replace professional judgement.
